In order to improve security Microsoft will soon automatically disable basic authentication for all protocols that have not been previously opted-out by tenants.

What this means is that all users still using basic authentication will have issues with accessing the service as a result. This is likely to affect those using older versions of Outlook (i.e. Outlook 2013 and older) and Exchange ActiveSync users as by default they do not support Modern Authentication.

If you have an older mobile phone then you may need to remove and re-add your account to fully switch to Modern Authentication on mobile devices using EAS protocol.

If you are still using older versions of Outlook then please get in touch with us as soon as possible as you are likely to be affected by this security enhancement.
